Vierra's Worm Farm was started by Bill and Markie Vierra with the intention
of supplying bait worms to the local fishermen; that was in 1989.
Today, we still supply worms for fishing. However, today we
also supply worms for composting, gardening, and feeder worms.
But it's the quality of our earthworm castings that we are
internationally known for.
Over the years, Bill & Markie have become expert in the science
and process of commercial vermiculture. Their experience, and continuing systematic
investigation into the uses and application of earthworm castings, helps ensure that every
ounce of earthworm castings from Vierra's Worm Farm is the finest soil amendment money can
buy.
Bill Vierra grew up on a dairy farm in Fremont, California. He
learned the ropes of vermiculture ( the process of using earthworms to process organic
material ) in Wisconsin from one of the "old masters" of vermiculture at
Wiggleworm Haven.
Returning to California, Bill began to practice the art and science
of raising earthworms. Successfully controlling variables such as temperature,
moisture, and diet, and constantly adjusting those variables to compensate for
environmental variables, is the secret to the success of earthworm castings from Vierra's
Worm Farm.
The same commitment to maintaining the highest production standards
is carried over to Vierra's Worm Farm's commitment to customer service.
